Digital Crafts - cooperating with the University

The traditional mission of research and education of the University is expanding its scope to the industrial world in order to find new elements of competitiveness in the territorial economic system, based on product, process, and organization innovation capacity. The symbol of this new synergy is the first Design Course, launched by the Department of Architecture and Design of the University of G. D'Annunzio in collaboration with Helios Automazioni, as a production model (industry 4.0) for the cutting-edge technologies.

This course is linked to the central theme of the international exhibition THE ITALIAN STONE THEATER, MARMOMAC 2019 – Verona stone show next September 


NATURALITY 
UNIQUENESS AND GEO-DIVERSITY OF THE STONE

The main theme of the 2019 edition of “THE ITALIAN STONE THEATRE” is the stone as the element of nature, belonging to the geo-biosphere. In the past it was called a live stone, the element used in architecture in its state of rock. The unique physical, mechanical, structural, textural and aesthetic diversity represents the real treasure of this element, which has been following men through his technological evolution and creativity expression. Nowadays it is of primary importance to strengthen the relationship between man and nature, offering a culture that gives value to the stone through new and unexpressed potentialities. In residential projects and urban environment, the stone represents the physical and symbolic connection with nature. THE ITALIAN STONE THEATRE exhibition will give value to the uniqueness of stones and their geo-diversity, holding a series of shows, which are going to connect the professional skills of the stone fabricators, the CNC machines producers, and well-known architects and designers.
